Historically, U.S. visa interviews were generally required for applicants aged 14–79, with limited exceptions; children under 14 and adults over 79 were often exempt, though consular officers could still require an interview. Effective September 2, 2025, the State Department has updated its policy: in most cases, all applicants—including those under 14 and over 79—will be expected to attend an in-person interview, subject to narrow exceptions. We will confirm the exact requirements that apply to your case on your appointment date. Regardless of the policy in place, our preparation process remains the same: we organize your documentation in advance and provide thorough coaching (for you, or for your child’s parent/guardian) to ensure your application is coherent, consistent, and handled efficiently at the interview window.
Visa timelines vary by season and workload. After the interview, most approved B1/B2 visas are printed and returned within a few business days; some may require longer administrative processing. We’ll set expectations when booking and track your case until passport return. If your trip is soon, we prepare your file carefully (DS-160 match, photo compliance, financial consistency) to prevent avoidable delays, often more important than the interview itself.
When the consular portal instructs you to submit passports or supporting documents, it issues a Courier-In Authorization. You simply print this slip and present it at designated Emirates Post counters. We take care of the rest—assembling the packet with the required barcodes, checklist, and documents—so your drop-off is fast and effortless. For clients who prefer a more hands-off approach, we provide a concierge service: complimentary document pick-up and drop in central Dubai. If you hold a UAE passport, you still require a B1/B2 visitor visa for tourism or business travel to the United States, since the UAE is not part of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Nationals of VWP countries may instead use ESTA for short visits, but most Dubai residents are not VWP nationals—so a standard visa is the correct path. If you are a UAE resident of another nationality, you may apply in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The process is essentially the same for non-UAE passport holders applying from Dubai. The key is that your legal stay in the UAE, whether through a residence visa or valid entry status, must be clearly documented. Eligibility for an interview waiver depends on your visa history and category, and policies have shifted several times. As of February 18, 2025, certain renewals and categories may still qualify for waiver at the discretion of the consular officer. However, under the updated policy effective September 2, 2025, most applicants will generally be required to attend an in-person interview, with only limited exceptions. At intake, we confirm your exact eligibility and guide you to the correct path—whether that means pursuing an interview waiver or preparing you fully for the in-person interview.
