FAQ - General Visa Information
For a Visa C (Short-Term Visa) to Bosnia and Herzegovina, required documents depend on the purpose of visit: for tourism, provide an NOC letter, a bank statement from the last 3 months, and a birth certificate for children under 18; for visiting friends/relatives, submit an invitation letter from a Bosnia and Herzegovina citizen or resident; for business, provide an employer letter stating the trip's purpose or an invitation from a certified company; for sport contests, an official invitation from a national sport organization or Olympic Committee is needed; for judicial procedures, submit a court or official invitation; and for education, provide an admission certificate from a Bosnia and Herzegovina educational institution.
To obtain a Visa D (Long-Term Visa) for Bosnia and Herzegovina, applicants must submit an Invitation Letter certified by the Ministry of Security – Service for Foreigner’s Affairs. For family reunification, the invitation must come from a relative or friend in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For work purposes, the invitation must be from a company in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with a work permit issued by the relevant authorities. The visa allows multiple entries, but the stay cannot exceed 180 days within one year from the first entry. The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documentation.
